Senior Backend Software Engineer – Enterprise Technology Services

About the role

Apple’s IS&T Enterprise Technology Services team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Backend Software Engineer to design and build large‑scale, low‑latency platforms that handle petabytes of data and millions of transactions per hour. The role combines deep technical expertise with a proactive problem‑solving mindset in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and roll out new features for highly scalable distributed platforms.
• Develop and maintain data‑service applications handling massive data volumes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into projects.
• Operate and maintain existing production platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Java/J2EE and building integration platforms.
• Proven ability to design highly scalable distributed systems.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make critical judgments with incomplete information.
• Effective oral and written communication and leadership abilities.
