Senior Engagement Manager – Forward Deployed Engineering

About the role

The Senior Engagement Manager will help customers accelerate value from the Databricks platform by leading Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) and training engagements. Reporting to the Director of FDE, you will partner with sales, engineering, partners, support and product teams to design and sell programs that solve complex business problems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate early with sales to understand customer needs, define success criteria, and ensure delivery exceeds expectations.
• Identify new service opportunities, develop commercial models, and address budget constraints using Databricks and partner investment vehicles.
• Own the full lifecycle of engagements: scope, estimate, create statements of work, and drive resolution of delivery challenges.
• Meet or exceed FDE and training KPIs, articulate customer success stories, and communicate measurable value.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, enforce project governance, and ensure delivery excellence.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Data and AI domains with experience delivering production implementations.
• Proven senior customer‑facing or services sales experience, including influencing, negotiating and closing deals.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with senior executives both internally and externally.
• Track record of translating customer needs into successful solutions and program plans.
• Leadership experience in project governance, delivery excellence, and KPI achievement.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English plus professional proficiency in Mandarin or Bahasa.
