Software Engineer, Android – Google Wallet

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and launch innovative features for Google Wallet on Android. You will own end‑to‑end delivery, from concept through deployment, impacting millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Build new features and platform capabilities for the Google Wallet Android app.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX designers to enhance existing functionality.
• Support integrators to ensure smooth data integration into the Wallet platform.
• Scale the Wallet service and leverage the latest Android features.
• Maintain deep integration with Google Play Services and the Android operating system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in Java or Kotlin.
• At least 2 years of Android application development experience.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle and full‑stack development.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, distributed teams.
• Familiarity with server‑side API design and integration.
• Knowledge of payments, NFC contactless payments, or digital credentials.
