Software Engineer, Excellence & Performance

About the role

As a Software Engineer in the Excellence & Performance team, you will create internal tooling and platform solutions that enable Singapore government agencies to adopt better software delivery and operational practices at scale. This role sits at the intersection of developer tooling, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, supporting the nation’s Smart Nation vision.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational data and work with agency CIO teams to discover performance gaps.
• Design and prototype interventions such as automation, dashboards, and tooling.
• Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable solutions for 54 agencies.
• Run pilots, measure outcomes against baselines, and scale successful solutions.
• Make architectural decisions to ensure performance and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure CI/CD pipeline reliability.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives) for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience building internal tools or platforms.
• Ability to analyse data, translate findings into technical solutions, and engage stakeholders.
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping and delivering production‑grade code.
• Commitment to clean, testable code and engineering best practices.
