Software Engineer III – Payments Technology

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate and Investment Banking Payments Technology team. In this role you will design, develop and maintain market‑leading payment solutions that are secure, stable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and troubleshoot high‑quality production code using modern full‑stack technologies.
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Analyze large data sets to generate visualizations and reporting that drive continuous improvement.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed and productivity.
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with at least 3 years of applied experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability in a large corporate environment.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java and the Spring framework.
• Experience with Liquibase for database migrations.
• Front‑end development using React or Angular.
• Fluency with AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Ability to write clean, secure, high‑quality code in one or more programming languages.
