Software Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is building a manufacturing data and applications platform to drive digitalisation and automation across the company. As a Software Engineer you will start by creating the foundational data layer – designing databases, pipelines and system integrations – and then expand into business logic, backend services and user‑facing applications on a modern manufacturing app platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, develop and debug software solutions for semiconductor equipment components.
• Build and maintain relational or structured data models for hierarchical manufacturing data.
• Create data ingestion and transformation pipelines and ensure reliable integration with manufacturing applications.
• Develop backend APIs, business logic and front‑end applications for internal users.
• Produce software documentation, test procedures and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with internal customers to gather requirements and deliver production‑grade web applications.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience delivering production web applications to internal users.
• Comfortable working close to manufacturing operations and understanding operational constraints.
• Motivated to grow into a full‑stack role covering data engineering, backend/API development and front‑end development.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to anticipate software behaviour in complex systems.
