Software Engineer – Server Infrastructure for Google Pay

About the role

Google Pay serves over 250 million users in India, and the Singapore‑based team drives the core features of the consumer app. As a Software Engineer you will own end‑to‑end user flows, focusing on performance, latency and reliability of the server infrastructure that powers millions of daily transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Write, test and ship production‑ready code for backend and full‑stack components.
• Participate in or lead design reviews, evaluating technology choices with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code contributions from other engineers, ensuring style, testability and efficiency.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content related to the product.
• Triage, debug and resolve system or product issues, assessing impact on hardware, network and service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• 2 years of full‑stack development experience, especially on back‑end codebases using Java, Python, Go or C++.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building systems that scale to millions of users globally.
• Ability to work effectively across teams to deliver features end‑to‑end.
