Software Engineer - Service Platform

About the role

The Service Platform team at ByteDance builds the cloud foundation that powers the company’s global ecosystem. As a Software Engineer you will help design, develop, and optimise core platform services that enable safer, more efficient deployment for internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise core platform services and ecosystem components.
• Collaborate with AI infrastructure teams to integrate specialised tooling and execution environments.
• Continuously improve platform efficiency and cost‑effectiveness through system optimisation.
• Establish and enforce platform engineering best practices across internal product lines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust or Typescript with strong systems‑programming skills.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, HTTP) and distributed systems.
• Experience with infrastructure products such as monitoring, logging, service mesh or storage.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
