Speech and Audio Research Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented engineer to join our research team in Singapore. You will work on cutting‑edge speech and audio algorithms for embedded devices such as earphones, smart watches and IoT products.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research and development of intelligent speech and audio algorithms for embedded systems.
• Perform acoustic test measurements and use state‑of‑the‑art equipment for data acquisition.
• Carry out objective and subjective evaluations of audio algorithms, including speech enhancement, active noise control and binaural rendering.
• Model, simulate and implement signal‑processing solutions using C, Python and scripting languages.
• Optimize DSP code for deployment on embedded audio platforms.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field with a focus on audio or speech signal processing.
• Strong mathematical background and deep knowledge in at least one area such as signal processing for audio, active noise control, speech enhancement, adaptive filtering or microphone‑array processing.
• Experience with acoustic testing, objective/subjective evaluation, and embedded system development.

Required skills

• Signal processing and acoustic modelling
• Adaptive filtering, noise suppression, active noise cancellation, hear‑through algorithms
• Programming in C/C++, Python and Matlab
• DSP algorithm optimization for embedded platforms
• Objective and subjective audio evaluation methods
• Experience with AI/Deep Learning frameworks in Python (highly desired)
