Systems Architect (Enterprise Resource Planning System)

About the role

DSO National Laboratories is seeking a Systems Architect to lead the design and evolution of its enterprise application landscape, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA. You will work closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams to ensure the ERP platform supports the organisation’s defence and digital transformation objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop the enterprise application architecture covering SAP S/4HANA and related systems.
• Advise senior management on critical SAP S/4HANA architectural decisions.
• Design and manage integration of SAP S/4HANA with other enterprise applications, including air‑gapped networks, ensuring secure and reliable data flow.
• Establish extensibility strategies (in‑app and side‑by‑side) to minimise customisation and technical debt.
• Monitor, analyse and optimise system performance, applying best practices for SAP and other applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams to translate requirements into efficient solutions.
• Implement governance controls to meet architecture standards and regulatory compliance.
• Define and maintain future‑state ERP architecture roadmaps aligned with business priorities and investment planning.
• Design non‑functional aspects such as security, availability, resilience and data protection.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing large‑scale enterprise architectures, preferably with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, especially across secure, air‑gapped environments.
• Ability to work with senior leadership and translate business needs into technical solutions.
