VP Development Manager – Group Technology

About the role

United Overseas Bank Limited is looking for a senior technology leader to own end‑to‑end software development for its banking systems across Singapore. The VP Development Manager will drive the full software lifecycle, from initial concept through design, implementation, testing and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a technical team delivering banking solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with architecture, policies and standards.
• Participate in technical design reviews and ensure solutions meet functional and regulatory requirements.
• Analyse system impacts, research problems and implement optimal, future‑proof solutions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, including SOPs and system architecture guides.
• Drive agile practices, streamline deployment processes and address technical debt without service disruption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application development, maintenance and full SDLC delivery.
• Proven track record managing on‑shore/off‑shore teams and third‑party vendors.
• Experience delivering large‑scale, highly‑available banking applications and regulatory reporting systems in the Asia region.
