Warehouse Assistant – Deli Manufacturing

About the role

You will support daily warehouse operations at a deli manufacturing facility, handling raw materials and finished products while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Store goods using FIFO and FEFO inventory practices.
• Pack, label, and prepare finished deli products for distribution.
• Load and unload goods safely with pallet jacks or other equipment.
• Conduct stock counts and assist with regular inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems or manual documentation.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness and proper storage temperatures for chilled or frozen items.
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Support general warehouse tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Required profile

• Physical ability to lift and move goods, including work in chilled or frozen environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for inventory recording.
• Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, food manufacturing, or FMCG is an advantage.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous but not mandatory).
