Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will support Marriott International’s finance function in Singapore by ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and reconciliation of financial transactions. This full‑time position involves handling cash, invoices, and financial data while adhering to company policies and confidentiality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
• Organise, secure and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents.
• Record, store, access and analyse computerized financial information.
• Classify, code and summarise numerical data using journals, ledgers and computer systems.
• Prepare, maintain, audit and distribute financial, accounting and payroll reports.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and related reports.
• Prepare, review, reconcile and issue bills, invoices and account statements.
• Follow‑up on past‑due accounts and vendor invoices until resolved.
• Prepare daily consolidated cash deposits and document cash variances.
• Administer cashier banks and contracts.
• Follow all company policies, maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
• Provide professional communication, answer phones and perform light physical tasks (≤10 lb).
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related accounting or finance experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
