Assistant Director - Finance Tax

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Director – Finance Tax to lead our group’s tax compliance, advisory and planning activities. The role will ensure accurate filing, manage tax risks and provide strategic guidance to business units.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and timely filing of all direct and indirect tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST and withholding tax.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation, Country‑by‑Country Reporting and Global Minimum Tax submissions.
• Lead tax reporting for month‑end and year‑end close, including tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Handle tax audits and inquiries, acting as the primary liaison with tax authorities.
• Maintain robust tax controls and documentation to keep the function audit‑ready.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Provide tax advisory support to cross‑functional teams on contracts, transactions and projects.
• Collaborate with the Tax Lead on commercial decisions and risk evaluation.
• Lead, mentor and develop a tax team, fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors and relevant authorities.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as SCTP or CPA.
• Approximately 10 years of tax experience, including Big 4 and in‑house corporate roles.
• Self‑driven with strong ownership, resilience and agency.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
• Confidence presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
