Assistant Engineer, Platform Administration (Rail Digitalisation)

About the role

The Rail Digitalisation & Guild (Sub-group) is a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team delivering the Authority's Railway Common Data Platforms (CDPs), with data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities across the Planning, Design, Build, Operation, Maintenance and Asset Management processes. As Assistant Engineer, you will act as a central coordination point for the team, working closely with multiple stakeholders to support efficient operations and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• User administration: manage user onboarding and offboarding, and maintain user roles, permissions and security groups for the CDPs according to SOPs
• Feedback and communications: monitor and manage user feedback and ensure timely, professional responses
• Incident and problem management: provide first and second level support for application incidents, investigating and resolving issues
• Asset and license tracking: keep accurate inventories of fixed assets and software licenses
• Financial and procurement management: monitor expenditure against budgets, track actual spending and manage procurement of platform and software goods and services
• Documentation and correspondence: draft and generate internal memos, purchase requisitions, NDAs and standard corporate letters

Required profile

• Knowledge of engineering or information technology, electrical engineering or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in platform or software maintenance, preferably in a technical or project-driven environment
• Experience with basic budget tracking, procurement and vendor management is an advantage
• Comfortable using AI tools and willing to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities and complex schedules, and strong written and verbal communication
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment
