Assistant Manager, Proposal & Design

About the role

Gradiant is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead proposal and design activities for water and wastewater treatment projects. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, finance and project teams to create competitive bids for municipal and industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end‑to‑end technical and commercial proposals, including EOIs, budgetary and firm bids.
• Review tender documents and ensure compliance with client specifications.
• Create process design concepts, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, equipment sizing calculations and technical write‑ups.
• Perform process engineering calculations such as mass balance, hydraulic profiles, chemical dosing and membrane sizing.
• Support design and optimisation of UF, RO, MBR, MBBR, DAF, clarifiers, filtration and sludge treatment systems.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and obtain vendor quotations.
• Participate in client meetings, bid defence sessions and technical presentations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in water and wastewater process design and tender management.
• Ability to coordinate inputs from multiple functions and meet strict submission deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills for cost optimisation and risk assessment.

Required skills

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Equipment sizing and mass‑balance calculations.
• Hydraulic profiling and chemical dosing calculations.
• Membrane design and sizing (UF, RO, MBR, MBBR).
• Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), clarifiers, filtration and sludge treatment design.
• Bills of Quantities (BOQ) preparation and cost estimating.
