Assistant Procurement Manager

About the role

The Assistant Procurement Manager will support the Group Procurement function by developing category strategies, leading sourcing events and driving data‑based decision making across indirect spend. You will work closely with Marketing, Logistics, IT, Store Operations and Finance teams across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Build fact‑based category strategies, analyse spend baselines, supplier landscapes and market dynamics.
• Run end‑to‑end competitive sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ), evaluate proposals and recommend awards.
• Lead commercial negotiations, manage total cost of ownership and consolidate demand.
• Partner with Legal to maintain contracts, templates and renewal schedules.
• Establish supplier performance scorecards and conduct business reviews.
• Design and continuously improve the source‑to‑pay process, digitise procurement tools and enforce purchase order discipline.
• Own spend data extraction, cleansing and reporting; build dashboards for CFO and Management Committee.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders as a commercial adviser and support regional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in indirect procurement with full ownership of categories and sourcing events.
• Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, retail or fast‑moving multi‑market environments.
• Exposure to logistics, marketing or technology categories is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query).
• Data‑visualisation tools: Power BI, Tableau.
• SQL and Python for data analysis.
• Familiarity with AI tools and procurement platforms such as Concur.
• Process‑improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and source‑to‑pay knowledge.
