Associate Firmware Engineer

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking an Associate Firmware Engineer to design, test, and support firmware and embedded software for current and next‑generation automation products. You will work closely with global engineering teams and report to an Engineering Manager based in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware/embedded software applications for Rockwell products.
• Design low‑level device drivers for 32‑bit microcontrollers.
• Implement and test communication protocols such as Ethernet, USB, Wi‑Fi, CAN, Profibus, and IO‑Link.
• Apply real‑time operating system (RTOS) concepts and automated unit‑test methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project deliverables with high quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a focus on embedded software.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in embedded software development (candidates with no experience may also apply).
• Strong knowledge of C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience programming 32‑bit microcontrollers and creating low‑level drivers.
• Familiarity with RTOS, unit testing, and hardware‑assisted debugging tools.
