Commercial Manager – General Cargo

About the role

Jurong Port is seeking a Commercial Manager for its General Cargo (GC) business. The role will lead client management, develop value‑added solutions and act as the primary liaison between consignees and the port to achieve strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and lead a team to propose value‑added handling solutions and respond to client queries.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all general cargo consignee matters and build direct relationships.
• Represent the business in industry forums, gather feedback on policy changes and convey market developments.
• Drive key infrastructural projects, ensuring smooth planning and execution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with operations, yard, planning, transformation and technical services to translate requirements into action.
• Work with finance on account management, ageing AR, budgeting and financial trend analysis.
• Coordinate commercial agreements, contracts, billing and payments to ensure compliance with SOPs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; construction or related background preferred.
• Pro‑active team player with a strong sense of urgency and excellent communication abilities.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple priorities.
• Positive mindset focused on execution, standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyse data, develop insights and understand big‑picture concepts.
