Data Scientist - Data Acquisition

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to lead the development of intelligent decision‑making capabilities that improve operational efficiency, workforce utilization and task allocation within TikTok’s Data Solutions Team. The role sits at the centre of a cross‑functional initiative to capture, transform and apply data signals for scalable delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop optimization and data‑driven models for intelligent assignment, prioritisation and resource utilisation across operational workflows.
• Build and maintain feature‑engineering pipelines that convert behavioural data, labeling task attributes and performance metrics into structured decision‑making features.
• Plan, execute and manage data‑science project timelines, budgets and deliverables.
• Communicate progress, challenges and results to stakeholders and senior management.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience applying machine learning, statistical modelling or optimisation to operational or business challenges.
• Strong background in data wrangling, feature development and exploratory analysis.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience handling large‑scale or distributed data systems.
• Track record of owning end‑to‑end data projects from requirements gathering to implementation.
• Preferred experience in decision science, resource allocation models, workflow optimisation, or service‑delivery environments.
• Familiarity with experimentation infrastructure such as A/B testing and metric design.
