DevOps Engineer – On‑Prem Kubernetes Specialist

About the role

NCS is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate on‑premises Kubernetes platforms. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, secure containerised solutions for our AI‑focused services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain on‑premises Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop and manage Docker container images for application deployments.
• Integrate Apache Kafka for event‑driven communication and data streaming.
• Provide secure remote access using Apache Guacamole.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) for cluster health.
• Apply Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies and pod security policies.

Required skills

• Kubernetes (pods, services, deployments, stateful sets, RBAC, network policies).
• Docker containerisation.
• Apache Kafka integration.
• Apache Guacamole for remote access.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Helm, Kustomize.
• Monitoring and logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins, ingress controllers, service meshes).
