Data Scientist – Quantitative Research & Trading

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to support a high‑throughput quantitative research platform and ensure seamless execution of live trading algorithms across global asset classes such as equities, futures and options.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, micro‑services and workflow orchestration for automated data ingestion.
• Clean, structure, aggregate and engineer actionable signals and features from diverse financial and alternative datasets.
• Collaborate with quantitative research teams and external vendors to analyse dataset characteristics and fulfil specialised data requirements.
• Establish automated data‑quality frameworks, anomaly detection and qualitative reporting mechanisms.
• Perform preliminary data analysis and exploratory research to support new strategy development and quantitative workflows.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (preferred) in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail and process execution.
• Exposure to financial markets or quantitative investment data is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and system development.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing datasets.
• Experience with Linux environments.
• Familiarity with modern cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools, e.g., Airflow.
