Deputy Director, Digital Platforms & AI Transformation

About the role

NTU is looking for a Deputy Director to drive digital transformation and AI initiatives that improve the university's operations and campus experience. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise IT, the role provides strategic vision, governance and technical leadership across core enterprise platforms such as websites, mobile apps, chatbots and IT solutions and services. It acts as a bridge between central IT leadership and decentralised business units, while keeping the technology landscape secure, sustainable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders across domains to understand their needs, define and implement technology solutions, and help them plan and manage budgets for digital transformation.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, build multi-year technology roadmaps and present business cases to executive steering committees.
• Lead the planning, design, development, integration and deployment of multiple systems and platforms.
• Drive change management and digital adoption strategies for smooth user transitions.
• Oversee digital platforms and services, ensuring best practice, security standards and performance.
• Manage procurement, contract renewals and operational expenditure budgets.
• Oversee external system integrators, partners and vendors for SLA compliance, fiscal discipline and project delivery.
• Maintain IT audit readiness with zero high or medium risk findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline; or a degree in Business Administration or Marketing with relevant technical experience.
• Minimum 15 years of IT industry experience, including at least 10 years of progressive leadership in enterprise IT, digital transformation or platform engineering.
• Proven track record in multi-site web enterprise consolidations and decentralised operational models.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and change management skills, able to work under pressure and handle ambiguity.
