Equipment Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Equipment Engineer to design, develop, and optimise high‑precision mechatronic systems in a production environment. The role blends mechanical design, system integration, testing, calibration and troubleshooting, and works closely with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑precision fixtures and mechatronic equipment using CAD (Siemens NX) with a focus on manufacturability and performance.
• Translate system requirements into robust, repeatable engineering solutions.
• Assemble, calibrate and optimise equipment to meet targets such as accuracy, yield and uptime.
• Conduct testing, analyse data, identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead structured root‑cause analysis to minimise downtime and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience with assembly, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of complex opto‑mechatronic systems.
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD, specifically Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge of precision mechanics and tolerancing.
• Experience in automation and system design.
• Programming skills: PLC, MCU, Python, LabVIEW.
• Basic electronics knowledge: sensors, actuators, wiring.
• Calibration and alignment of motion or optical systems.
