Facilities Technician – GMP Pharmaceutical Facility

About the role

The Facilities Technician provides day‑to‑day handyman support and oversees third‑party vendors within a regulated GMP pharmaceutical environment. During the greenfield site handover, the technician acts as the on‑site eyes and ears, identifying and reporting snag items while ensuring safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce vendor safety compliance by managing Toolbox Meetings, verifying signed documentation, and filing records for audit readiness.
• Check permits‑to‑work, Safe Work Procedures and local safety guidelines for all visiting contractors.
• Conduct site inspections during greenfield handover, maintain a detailed snag‑list tracker, and report status to the Assistant Facilities Manager.
• Host and escort external service providers, supervising their work during preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform routine handyman repairs: minor plumbing, basic electrical troubleshooting, patch painting, door hardware adjustments, and fixture maintenance.
• Carry out daily inspections of critical infrastructure such as door seals and drain meshes.
• Participate in emergency response for facilities incidents.
• Maintain GMP cleanroom standards through proper gowning, tool sanitisation and housekeeping.

Required profile

• Experience working in a regulated GMP or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and snag‑list management.
• Ability to supervise external vendors and enforce safety procedures.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a focus on maintaining site integrity.
