Illustration Designer

About the role

Grab’s Illustration Team is looking for a skilled Illustration Designer to shape the visual language of our super‑app. You will work at the intersection of creativity and AI, ensuring that generated artwork meets brand standards and is ready for production.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine production illustrations for a variety of Grab products.
• Define, document, and uphold illustration standards so AI‑generated and hand‑crafted assets share a consistent visual language.
• Own the full illustration workflow: receive designer requests, trigger AI generation, review outputs, and deliver final assets to the production library.
• Review AI‑generated assets against standards, provide clear feedback, and intervene when automation cannot complete a task.
• Use insights from production reviews to improve generation prompts and review guidelines over time.
• Collaborate closely with product designers to streamline illustration requests, reviews, and shipping.

Required profile

• A strong portfolio showcasing production illustration, composition, visual storytelling, and a cohesive style system.
• Proven experience delivering illustration assets for digital products, handling multiple asset types and production constraints.
• Ability to assess brand fit, character, and craftsmanship, and to articulate those judgments.
• Comfort working with AI‑assisted image generation as a regular part of the production pipeline.
• Experience partnering with product designers to translate briefs into production‑ready assets.
