Information Security Officer – OT & IT Security

About the role

The IT Security Officer will protect the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the Meteorological Service Singapore’s operational technology infrastructure. This role combines deep cybersecurity expertise with an understanding of specialised environmental monitoring systems to keep weather observation, forecasting and dissemination platforms secure and resilient.

Key responsibilities

• Use passive, non‑disruptive monitoring tools to discover OT assets across meteorological networks without impacting live operations.
• Maintain a comprehensive OT Asset Register covering hardware, firmware, software and network connectivity, flagging shadow or unmanaged devices.
• Document and regularly update IT/OT network architecture diagrams, including connectivity, remote access paths, vendor interfaces and boundary crossing points, each risk‑rated.
• Map operational data flows between OT and IT systems to identify lateral attack paths and support vulnerability assessments, risk management and incident response.
• Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training tailored to the division’s operational context and specific threats.
• Serve as the primary OT security expert for the division, providing guidance on security controls and incident response.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in IT/OT security, preferably within critical infrastructure, government or scientific environments.
• Ability to obtain or hold a government security clearance at the required level.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIEM platforms.
• Experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Knowledge of endpoint detection and response tools.
