Lead Pharmaceutical Technologist

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Lead Pharmaceutical Technologist to oversee Central Services (API) operations. In this role you will ensure materials are available on‑time, in full, and right the first time while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute daily Central Services activities, including material handling, sampling, and tank farm operations.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, EHS guidelines, GDP, and ALCOA+ principles.
• Communicate progress, issues, and anomalies to the Supervisor/Manufacturing Lead and propose corrective actions.
• Provide technical support and verification for junior Pharmaceutical Technologists.
• Act as primary contact for troubleshooting, on‑floor issue resolution, and escalation of Central Services matters.
• Assist in planning and leading shift deliverables, and deputize the supervisor when required.
• Review batch records and worksheets, collaborating with QA to resolve compliance concerns.
• Maintain housekeeping and facility fitness to ensure audit readiness.
• Lead safety risk assessments and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) as the operations representative.
• Conduct quality risk assessments, walk‑downs, and support regulatory audits.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading pharmaceutical manufacturing teams.
• Strong knowledge of SOPs, EHS standards, GDP, and ALCOA+ requirements.
• Ability to independently resolve operational issues and make sound safety judgments.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, QA, and cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive approach to schedule planning and delay mitigation.
