Lecturer – Building Mechanical & Electrical Design

About the role

As a Lecturer in Building Mechanical & Electrical Design at ITE College East, you will deliver undergraduate and diploma courses that blend theory with practical industry insights. You will mentor students, assess their progress, and help them develop lifelong learning habits in the built environment sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum for Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering subjects, including ACMV, sanitary plumbing, gas, fire detection, and electrical systems.
• Supervise laboratory sessions, workshops and project work that apply Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
• Lead industry or consultancy projects to keep your knowledge current and to provide real‑world case studies for students.
• Maintain strong partnerships with industry partners and secondary schools, arranging regular industry attachments for students.
• Participate in academic committees, curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in the built environment, specifically in M&E engineering design or construction.
• Hands‑on experience with modern building M&E services such as Air‑Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV), sanitary plumbing, gas, fire detection & protection, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and BIM‑to‑field workflows.
