Lecturer (Electronics) - School of Engineering

About the role

The School of Engineering is recruiting a Lecturer (Electronics) to teach full-time diploma students and part-time adult learners and to carry out all related academic duties. The role covers teaching, curriculum design, project supervision and industry collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons to full-time diploma students and part-time adult learners and handle all related academic responsibilities.
• Design, develop and deliver curriculum, courseware and e-learning modules for programmes in Power System Analysis, Power Transmission and Distribution, System Protection, Smart Grid Technology, Electrical Design and Installation and other electrical engineering subjects.
• Supervise and assess student projects and internships together with industry partners.
• Use IT tools and multimedia platforms to improve lesson delivery and student engagement.
• Counsel, coach and mentor students, supporting their academic learning, competition participation, career guidance and personal development.
• Handle academic administration and committee work, and support outreach, community projects and study trips.
• Plan, lead and manage projects with industry partners, including internships and capability development.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Proven ability to lead, plan and deliver industry-focused projects.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in cross-functional teams, with strong communication and presentation skills.
