Legal Associate – Litigation Practice

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Legal Associate to join our established litigation practice. Working directly with Partners and Senior Associates, you will gain early ownership of files, extensive courtroom exposure, and mentorship on complex civil and commercial disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present advocacy at State Courts and the High Court, including case conferences, pre‑trial conferences, and interlocutory applications.
• Support lead counsel in trials, hearings, international arbitrations, and mediations, handling witness preparation and cross‑examination strategies.
• Draft letters of demand, pleadings, affidavits, summonses, and written submissions under Partner supervision.
• Manage eLitigation filings, compile trial bundles, and maintain court documentation.
• Conduct targeted legal research on statutes, case law, and procedural rules, and draft initial legal opinions and risk assessments.
• Serve as primary client contact, overseeing case timelines, trial schedules, and procedural deadlines.

Required profile

• Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore (trainees welcome).
• 0–2 years post‑qualification experience in civil/commercial litigation within a Singapore law firm.
• Strong legal research, persuasive written advocacy, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with eLitigation.
• Proficiency in LawNet and standard litigation practice software.
