Linux Administrator – OpenShift & Bare‑Metal Migration

About the role

Capgemini is looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to lead the migration of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters from VMware virtual machines to bare‑metal servers. The role combines advanced Linux system administration, bare‑metal cluster engineering, and close collaboration with application and database teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute migration of OCP clusters from VMware to bare‑metal infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable, secure bare‑metal cluster architectures.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment and configuration management.
• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL/CentOS servers and ensure high‑availability hardening, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Optimize system performance, resource utilization, and network connectivity (switches, VLANs, routing).
• Support Oracle database deployments and integrations within Linux and OCP environments.
• Create detailed technical documentation for migration processes, architecture designs, and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS preferred).
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with OpenShift Container Platform, including cluster setup and migration.
• Proven experience with bare‑metal server provisioning and cluster engineering.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Oracle database environments on Linux.
