Metrology & Real‑Time Defect Analysis Technician

About the role

The Metrology & Real‑Time Defect Analysis (MRDA) Technician supports manufacturing operations by performing precise measurement activities, monitoring process stability, and assisting engineers in defect investigations. This hands‑on role ensures timely detection of quality issues and contributes to continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute measurement tasks using established recipes and advanced inspection tools to assess product integrity.
• Collect, organize, and provide measurement and defect data for engineering review.
• Monitor process performance with Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and sampling methods, escalating deviations promptly.
• Support tool maintenance schedules, perform first‑level troubleshooting, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on metrology equipment.
• Assist engineers in data gathering for defect source investigations and generate first‑pass analysis for root‑cause studies.
• Participate in projects aimed at improving inline detection, reducing measurement variability, and increasing tool availability.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience operating metrology or inspection equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Proactive attitude toward identifying process deviations and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives.
