Production Operator, Coating

About the role

The Production Operator – Coating will work under the Production Supervisor to ensure colour matching, formulation adjustments, and quality testing of coating products meet customer and quality standards. The role supports production, colour management activities and maintains global colour standards across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform colour matching and quality checks on various coating products using spectrophotometer and colour‑match techniques.
• Establish, blend, and spray formulae, correcting colour shifts and scaling formulas for production.
• Conduct tests on activators, solvents and other QC‑card‑required analyses.
• Execute production batches according to approved formulas.
• Participate in the Colour Management Action Group (CMAG) and manage global colour standards (BMS, Federal, internal copies).
• Serve as the colour representative for ASC South East Asia and maintain the “on colour” software contact point.
• Perform preventive maintenance, manage calibration logs for lab equipment, and uphold a 5S housekeeping program.

Required profile

• Knowledge of PPG policies, especially EHS compliance.
• Understanding of colour development, colour matching processes and product formulae.
• Ability to accurately blend and scale formulas.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
