Project Manager – Ship Repairs & Conversions

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead ship repair, construction and conversion projects. You will coordinate daily VSCC meetings, manage hot‑works and painting activities, and ensure safety and schedule compliance across multiple vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Direct ship repair, construction and conversion projects from planning to delivery.
• Lead daily VSCC meetings and coordinate hot‑works, painting and incompatible jobs onboard.
• Monitor project critical paths, man‑hours and costs to achieve target gross‑profit margins.
• Maintain strong relationships with classification societies, ship owners, engineers, crew and agents.
• Capture additional work, prepare work lists and support the Commercial Department with pricing.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, quality and safety requirements.
• Participate in smart‑yard, digitalisation, innovation and AI initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑7 years of project management experience in ship repair or similar heavy‑industry environments.
• Valid SRM Certificate and experience chairing VSCC meetings.
• Experience with diverse vessel types (dredgers, offshore vessels, containers, tankers, etc.).
• Ability to make decisive decisions, work independently and handle weekend or late‑hour work when required.
• Strong communication skills with clients and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience creating schedules with MS Project or Primavera.
• Report writing and project documentation.
