QC Technician

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a QC Technician to support the release of GeneChip arrays in a laboratory environment. The role involves performing quality‑control testing, data analysis and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform QC testing of GeneChip products and target preparation for Cytoscan and Axiom platforms.
• Review and disposition QC batch records for release to QA, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, MDSAP and 21 CFR 820.
• Trend QC data, investigate failures, and support corrective‑action implementation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on QC equipment and schedule testing activities.
• Provide training to junior staff and maintain controlled documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma in a science discipline (e.g., Chemical Process Technology, Biochemistry) or equivalent wet‑lab experience.
• Minimum 2 years of QC experience in pharmaceutical or biotech settings.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• GeneChip testing and data analysis.
• Cytoscan and Axiom target preparation.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, MDSAP and 21 CFR 820 requirements.
• Laboratory equipment preventive maintenance.
• QC batch record review and documentation control.
