Resident Engineer – Civil & Structural Works

About the role

The Resident Engineer (C&S) will oversee the delivery of high‑quality civil and structural works on a complex construction project. Reporting to senior engineering leadership, you will ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and client operational requirements while coordinating a multidisciplinary on‑site team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor performance to guarantee quality and statutory safety compliance.
• Attend and contribute to all project meetings, including progress, variation, coordination, and QA/QC sessions.
• Supervise construction activities such as concreting, pavement, drainage, compaction, formwork, prop installation/removal, precast erection, and steel work.
• Manage Resident Technical Officers and coordinate with the safety team on WASH and aerodrome safety management systems.
• Ensure construction does not disrupt client operations and that emergency preparedness protocols are followed.
• Verify and audit reports, claims, and material deliveries, taking corrective action for any non‑conformities.
• Resolve contractor queries, maintain shift duty rosters, and perform administrative tasks as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years on major building and road projects.
• Experience with flexible/rigid aircraft pavement, large‑span steel structures, and monitoring‑instrument installation.
• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PEB.
• Accredited Resident Engineer (RE) with IES.
• Willingness and ability to work shift schedules.
