Senior Accountant – General Ledger

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team and provide comprehensive support to assigned business units. The role involves overseeing month‑end and year‑end close, budgeting, tax advisory and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyse and recommend actions on revenue streams, project profitability and cost optimisation.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare variance analysis and trend commentary comparing actual performance to budget on a monthly basis.
• Calculate key financial indicators to support business‑unit decision‑making.
• Develop the annual budget and rolling forecasts for assigned units.
• Advise on tax implications, GST filing and corporate tax matters.
• Manage statutory accounting, ensure timely monthly reporting and coordinate statutory audits.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, identify control weaknesses and propose mitigation measures.
• Undertake ad‑hoc duties such as policy review and process re‑engineering.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in a Big 4 audit firm (preferred).
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across divisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA (advantageous).
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
