Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence

About the role

The Business Technology Group (BTG) of IMDA, which drives Singapore's digital economy, is looking for a Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence. You will advance Singapore's position in the AI landscape by developing cutting-edge AI solutions, especially in generative AI, while also considering AI safety and trust. You will contribute to the AI ecosystem across sectors such as legal and healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical due diligence on AI technology providers and summarise technical details from articles, acting as a key AI knowledge resource.
• Lead the development of generative AI solutions, covering both software and hardware, and work with technical and domain experts on early use cases and prototypes.
• Contribute to AI hardware benchmarking, agentic AI and embodied AI projects.
• Incorporate AI safety and trust into AI development processes.
• Craft and run grant programs for end-user AI adoption, and support grants for technology providers' research and commercialisation and manpower development.
• Facilitate AI workshops, events and overseas trips to promote knowledge exchange.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related field; PhD preferred.
• A few years of hands-on AI development experience, with proven ability to build and deploy AI solutions.
• Experience in AI safety and trust, and familiarity with AI applications in sectors such as legal and healthcare.
• Experience partnering with local research ecosystems and government agencies.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to explain complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Grant program experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong AI literacy, including generative AI principles and development practices.
• Proficiency in common AI programming languages (e.g. Python) and familiarity with AI frameworks and tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI hardware benchmarking, agentic AI or embodied AI is highly desirable.
