Senior Optimization & Performance Manager (East)

About the role

BP is looking for a Senior Optimization & Performance Manager to lead its Shipping Optimization team for the East region. The role focuses on improving the performance of BP’s time‑chartered fleet, turning vessel data into commercial value while supporting safety, reliability and emissions goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with time‑charter partners, acting as the main point of contact after contract award.
• Analyse vessel performance trends and set expectations for safety, efficiency and commercial outcomes.
• Translate operational data into measurable business results such as fuel efficiency, reliability and emissions reductions.
• Provide performance insights to senior stakeholders and link them to financial impact.
• Identify and mitigate marine risks using assurance data and collaborate with vetting teams.
• Develop and maintain performance frameworks, dashboards and benchmarks across commercial, operational and environmental metrics.
• Lead improvement initiatives, working with ship owners and technical managers to address under‑performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in shipping, marine operations or energy logistics, preferably with time‑charter vessels.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior partners.
• Data‑driven mindset with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
