Senior Software Engineer – Consumer Onboarding

About the role

Coinbase is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Consumer Onboarding team. You will build and scale the backend services that power user onboarding and KYC across all products and markets, enabling rapid expansion while meeting compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale Golang backend services that support onboarding and KYC workflows globally.
• Build service‑oriented systems using modern cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP) and industry best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks in onboarding and MTU conversion funnels and deliver data‑driven improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and senior leadership to translate vision into quarterly roadmaps.
• Lead cross‑functional design reviews to ensure security, operational integrity, and architectural clarity.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production backend services.
• Proven experience designing reliable distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Golang or a comparable statically‑typed language.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or GCP.
• Track record of owning end‑to‑end delivery from design through deployment and monitoring.
