Software Engineer, Android Trust

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Android Trust team, protecting billions of Android users from abusive apps and ensuring a safe ecosystem. You will work on cutting‑edge security, privacy, and AI‑driven solutions that span production infrastructure and novel research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain systems that detect malware, content abuse, impersonation, and behavioral abuse in Android apps.
• Build and improve static and dynamic program analysis pipelines for multiple languages on real devices and virtual machines.
• Design and implement supervised, unsupervised, and generative AI models for content, privacy, and security violation detection.
• Contribute to reverse‑engineering tools, threat‑mitigation automation, and agentic AI threat‑model defenses.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security features into Android’s production infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Experience in Android system/app development, network monitoring, and security/privacy technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their safety implications.
