Training and Programmes Officer (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

Civica is seeking a Training and Programmes Officer on a 12‑month contract to lead library‑focused training and literacy initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Library Services and Operations, you will design, deliver and evaluate programmes that boost staff capability and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop training programmes, including manuals, slide decks and e‑learning modules.
• Conduct regular onboarding and continuous training sessions for staff, both individual and group workshops.
• Support train‑the‑trainer initiatives to enable knowledge cascading across teams.
• Provide administrative support for the planning and delivery of all training activities.
• Collaborate with third‑party providers to enhance training quality.
• Evaluate and review the effectiveness of training programmes.
• Design reading and literacy programmes, preparing guides and activity materials.
• Assist implementation of literacy programmes for target audiences.
• Deliver library programmes at customer sites and support the creation of an online catalogue.
• Offer administrative assistance for the organisation of reading and literacy activities.

Required profile
