2-Year Cargo Officer Traineeship Program

About the role

The 2‑Year Cargo Officer Traineeship is a structured programme designed to develop fresh talent into qualified Bunker Cargo Officers. Trainees will rotate between onboard duties and shore‑based training, gaining hands‑on experience under senior officers while completing industry‑recognised certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior bunker cargo officers in daily cargo operations and documentation.
• Participate in on‑board rotations (typically 3 days on board, 3 days ashore) to understand vessel logistics.
• Complete external courses to achieve SS 648:2024 and SS 600:2014 certification.
• After certification, independently manage bunker cargo handling as a Junior Officer.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or entry‑level candidate with interest in maritime logistics.
• Willingness to commit to a 2‑year bond and rotational work schedule.
• Eligibility to work in Singapore (Citizens/PR preferred).

Required skills

• Bunker cargo handling.
• Understanding of SS 648 and SS 600 maritime standards.
