Accountant – Energy Sector

About the role

We are partnering with a reputable energy company to recruit an Accountant who will support multiple business entities across the region. This role offers exposure to a dynamic international environment and the chance to work on a full spectrum of accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and provisions.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate external audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards and internal controls.
• Handle GST, corporate tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
• Support finance transformation, process improvement and system implementation initiatives.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably a mix of Big 4 audit and commercial accounting.
• Experience with full‑set accounts, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Exposure to statutory reporting, audits and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
