Accountant – Fast‑paced Commodities Trading

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join a dynamic commodities trading environment. The role supports financial reporting, month‑end closing, accounting operations and drives process improvements while interacting with finance and commercial stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end closing, reconciliations and consolidation activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Reconcile accounting data with trading and source systems.
• Prepare accounting schedules, perform financial analysis and support monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Assist with annual financial statements, audit requirements and accounting standard changes.
• Identify and implement improvements in finance processes, controls, automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve finance‑related matters.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of month‑end closing, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in commodities, trading, mark‑to‑market accounting or audit of trading businesses is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
