Accountant – Full‑set Accounting, GST & Audit Support

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accountant to join an in‑house finance team of a Singapore‑based defence and ammunition company. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full‑set accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities on schedule.
• Prepare bank, balance‑sheet and other reconciliations.
• Produce monthly financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.
• Monitor cash flow, payments and receivables.
• Maintain fixed‑asset, inventory and related accounting schedules.
• Support GST submissions, corporate tax schedules and other statutory reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and corporate secretaries.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to audit queries.
• Ensure proper financial controls and identify unusual transactions.
• Contribute to budgeting, financial analysis and ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent professional qualification).
• Minimum 3 years of practical accounting experience, preferably handling full‑set accounts.
• Good understanding of financial accounting, month‑end closing, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST and basic corporate tax.
• Detail‑oriented with high accuracy.

Required skills

• Experience with Xero accounting software (highly advantageous).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Comfortable using accounting/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting, costing and related processes.
