AI Engineer (T-UP Programme)

About the role

AI Singapore (AISG), hosted at NTU, runs the Technology for Enterprise Capability Upgrading (T-UP) scheme, which strengthens local companies' AI capability by seconding AI Engineers. The role involves driving AI projects, mentoring apprentices and leading solution development.

Key responsibilities

• Drive tasks stemming from AIAP, AIAP (Industry), LADP and AIIP.
• Train and mentor AI apprentices during the Deep-skilling and Project phases.
• Lead solution development for internal and external AI projects, perform research and maintain AIAP technologies.
• Plan and execute AIAP recruitment stages and update the AIAP syllabus.
• Support industry and community-building activities through talks, workshops and seminars.

Required profile

• Applicants from all disciplines and qualifications, including NITEC, Diploma and Degree holders.
• A strong portfolio of AI/ML projects showing delivery from scoping and data analysis to deployment and documentation.
• Deep, practical knowledge of machine learning fundamentals applied to NLP, computer vision or tabular data.
• Experience developing LLM-powered applications, including Prompt Engineering, RAG and fine-tuning.
• Expert-level Python skills and a commitment to software engineering best practices.
• Fluency in Git, Docker and CI/CD, and experience building data and model pipelines on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Eagerness to mentor others, excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and a drive to keep up with AI developments.
