Assistant HR Manager

About the role

Our client is seeking a hands‑on and commercially minded Assistant HR Manager to lead the day‑to‑day Human Resources function for their Singapore operations while providing HR support and coordination for Malaysia. The role covers recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, payroll, performance management, HR operations and process improvement, as well as finance administration and essential office administration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for Singapore and support Malaysia hiring, managing sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers and onboarding.
• Own the employee lifecycle – onboarding, probation, transfers, off‑boarding and maintenance of contracts and personnel records.
• Manage Singapore payroll processing, CPF, statutory submissions and employee benefits administration.
• Provide finance administration support, reviewing invoices, reimbursements and tracking HR‑related expenses.
• Coordinate Malaysia HR matters, ensuring alignment with local employment requirements.
• Lead and develop a small HR team, establishing clear responsibilities and improving HR workflows.
• Drive process improvements across HRIS, Lark and other systems to reduce manual work and enhance data accuracy.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
• 5–7 years progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in an SME or fast‑growing environment.
• Proven experience supervising a small HR team.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore employment practices, MOM requirements and CPF.
• Familiarity with Malaysian employment practices is an advantage.
• Proficiency in spoken Mandarin and ability to read/write Chinese.
