Assistant Lead - TGH

About the role

The Assistant Lead – TGH supports the smooth operation of Boys' Town’s TGH residential programme, focusing on manpower management, child‑safe environment promotion and overall youth well‑being. The role assists the Manager, TGH in daily duties and steps in during the manager’s absence, working closely with social workers, clinical staff and youth specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Manager, TGH and cover the manager’s duties when absent.
• Collaborate with social workers and clinical team to implement trauma‑informed interventions.
• Maintain fidelity to the Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) model of care.
• Coordinate daily and holiday programmes, motivate residents to engage, and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct.
• Supervise, mentor and train Youth Specialists, monitor their budgets and portfolio performance.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for MSF and Boys' Town and ensure all SOPs, fire‑drill and BOV reports are up‑to‑date.
• Assist in budget planning, duty rostering, pocket‑money disbursement and KPI tracking.
• Participate in policy development, fundraising activities and cross‑departmental collaboration.

Required profile

• Degree in social work, psychology or equivalent.
• Minimum three years relevant experience, preferably in residential or child‑youth services.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Strong executive functioning skills – planning, coordinating, organizing and evaluating.
• Administrative competence in documentation, filing and report writing.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed care, child development and resilience principles.
• Mentoring, coaching and interpersonal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience, integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
